My friend Cathy and I had a wonderful experience with Cecilia and Massimo. We did indeed gain some new culinary knowledge and skills, and in general, really enjoyed the hands-on nature of the cooking class. Additionally, and as equally important, we found our hosts/teachers to be knowledgeable, personable and quite open to giving all they could to us as their students. We are leaving our tomato stained aprons as they are (at least for the time being) as tangible reminders of that special day. We regard the class to be one of the high points of our two weeks in Italy, which is saying quite a lot, given the incredible trip that it was for both of us! We also consider ourselves fortunate to have met and spent time with Cecilia and Massimo and hope to visit them again in the future. Chianti Cooking Class Program with Cecilia and Massimo
The scenic drive through the Tuscan countryside is the perfect way to start your day before arriving at Cecilia and Massimo's restaurant in a charming Chianti village where your hosts are awaiting your arrival. During your cooking class in the Chianti together with Cecilia, you will prepare a full Tuscan menu from mouthwatering appetizers all the way to a delicious dessert! A guided tasting of local extra virgin olive oil with Massimo is a special treat as a break half-way through the lesson. When you have finished your lesson it is time to relax and enjoy the meal you have prepared together. Massimo will take this occasion to lead you through a guided tasting of three outstanding local wines he has personally selected that compliment the plates you have created. As with all authentic traditional Tuscan and Chianti cooking, the menu will be based on seasonally available products.

Special Bonus: On Thursdays you can arrive at the small Chianti town early and be able to explore the town's open-air food market located nearby the restaurant before the cooking class. Although the market visit is not guided, it provides a wonderful opportunity to experience how local Italians do their weekly shopping.

Profile of Your Tuscan Cooking Class Hosts: Ceclia and Massimo
Cecilia and her husband Massimo run a simple yet exceptionally good traditional Tuscan osteria situated in a rural Chianti town halfway between Florence and Siena. Cecilia is the chef, Massimo runs the front of the house and is also a very knowledgeable sommelier. They provide the perfect environment to learn about authentic Tuscan cooking traditions, and are always happy to share their love of traditional Tuscan cuisine and exceptional local wines.


 
What's Included in Your Chianti Cooking Class
An entertaining hands-on cooking lesson of a four course Tuscan meal (approx. 4 hours).
Full sit-down lunch of prepared dishes.
Guided tasting of extra virgin olive oil.
Guided tasting of three exceptional local wines.

What's Not Included in Your Chianti Cooking Class
Transportation is not included. You must arrange your own transportation to the restaurant. The restaurant address will be sent to you upon completion of your reservation. Although possible to reach by public transportation, a car (either rented or hired) is highly recommended. If you would like us to book a car for hire with a driver please email us directly to make your entire reservation.
